For many of us Trains Magazine is an integral part of our railroad interests. It keeps us abreast of North American freight and passenger railroads, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
On Wednesday, August 12, Trains editor, Bill Stephens, will discuss how the collaborative effort of writers, photographers, editors, illustrators, and designers come together to produce the magazine each month. Using the June 2026 cover story on changes in New England as an example, Bill will walk us through the feature stories on the Berkshire & Eastern and Norfolk Southern.
Stephens has over 30 years of experience covering the rail industry. His analytical reporting and in-depth special reports have made him one of the industry’s most trusted voices. Bill was named editor of Trains Magazine in November 2025.
Stephens resides in Westfield, Massachusetts.
