Model Railroad and Fire Equipment

Dave Owens

There’s an interesting connection between railroad models and model fire equipment. It is not unusual to see fire-fighting scenes on model railroads, or flatcar loads of new fire equipment.

In the prototype world, fire equipment was a common sight on railroads, too. Several railroads had their own fire departments. And, the Pennsylvania Railroad had special cars just to transport new fire equipment.

On Wednesday, May 14, Dave Owens will discuss how he weaves together three modeling interests  – HO-scale trains, cars, and fire equipment. Dave regularly does clinics on model fire equipment and will show examples of both ready-to-run and kit fire equipment models.

This presentation is open to the public.
