online Show & Tell

the programs

The Amherst Railway Society is running a series of online Show & Tell programs to highlight the diverse and fascinating railroad interests of our members and friends. Model railroading, railroad photography, railroad history, rail-fan stories – all subjects that can show up in the programs. If you would like to be a program presenter, please contact John Sacerdote at: showdirector@amherstrail.org.

background

The motivation for Amherst’s on-line Show & Tell program series was an e-mail exchange that started early on in the COVID pandemic. Members started corresponding with each other, wondering what kinds of things people were doing since we were no longer able to hold meetings, attend train shows, or work on projects.

The dialogue coming out of those e-mails planted the seed for an on-line program that would be available to all members – and the Amherst Show & Tell series was born.

Response to the programs has been overwhelmingly positive. Members have learned more about each other, and the talent and creativity that resides in our organization has been on full display. Plus, members that do not live close enough to attend meetings in Palmer are getting a chance to do so – online.
