The June meeting is the annual business meeting of the Amherst Railway Society.
The meeting includes an overview of the organization from the President, including accomplishments of the past year as well as plans and objectives for the next year.
Elections of board members are held as this meeting. Paid members of the Amherst Railway Society are eligible to vote.
Time is allotted during the meeting to discuss both old and new business of the society.
The Amherst Railway Society holds eight regular meetings each year
Meetings feature slide shows, historical information, and presentations on a wide variety of railroad-related topics ranging from high-speed rail in China to restoration of a trolley in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
Meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of each month and begin at 7:30 pm. Meetings are held at the Amherst Railway Society clubhouse in Palmer, Massachusetts. (see map below).
Members are notified of any changes in meeting dates, times, or places through the society newsletter. Changes are also announced on this web site, and on the Amherst Railway Society Facebook page.
Meetings are HELD in: January, March, April, May, June, September, October, and November.
Meetings are NOT HELD in: February, July, August, and December.
Amherst Railway Society meetings are open to the public.
